Grandpa's Cat Story

Grandpa Leroy traditionally isn't too buddy-buddy with cats. He diligently feeds them and keeps them healthy, but typically not too much further. Last year they got a set of cats from some friends to introduce some new blood into the mix. One cat was quite special and friendly. Since the weather has been nicer dad's been walking down the road every morning. This particular cat (named Connor by the grand kids - after themselves) made the walk by his side every morning.

This past Monday morning on the way to work with mom she got a cell phone call from dad that while he was walking the cat was hit by a car and killed. Apparently it thrashed around a bit on the road and then went still. Dad got it off the road to its final resting place. Mom and dad were actually quite bothered by the whole deal at the beginning of the week.

Well, you probably know I wouldn't post a dismal story like that, so the conclusion is that Thursday evening it showed up in the barn quite hungry and ready to eat! It's got a few cuts/scrapes, and is slightly more timid, but otherwise is back to normal. 8 lives to go!
